EXTREME PRESSURE CHEMISTRY

646 SUPREME’s 70 lb. Timken OK Load is most unique for a gear lubricant. The outstanding cushioning agents and EP chemistry make 646 SUPREME the premier gear lubricant for heavily loaded gear applications and extreme operating conditions.

LIFE INDICATOR

The specialized chemistry used in 646 SUPREME includes a “life indicator”. While 646 SUPREME’s superior performance is the primary reason for its separation from competitor products, another unique characteristic makes it even more unique. This specialized additive package is designed to alter the color of 646 SUPREME when the product begins to oxidize. With a bright red starting color, a change to dark brown indicates the fluid has been used to its full capacity and a change is needed. With 646 SUPREME’s ability to resist emulsification or turning “milky” from moisture, the “life indicator” continues to work in presence where contamination is typical.

ZERO EMULSIFICATION

“Milky” or water contaminated oil is one of the most common issues in applications where gear lubricants are required. Either through direct water exposure from operating conditions or through condensation build-up, traditional gear lubes will emulsify with water contaminants. Once contaminated, all critical characteristics are jeopardized, i.e. extreme pressure capabilities, film strength, rust and corrosion prevention, foam reduction and oxidation resistance. 646 SUPREME’s ability to shed water means that excess moisture can be drained from a gear application, extending the life of both the oil and vital components.

ADHESIVE & COHESIVE

Sufficient coating of gear components and superior film strength are two areas where most standard gear oils fall short. The tackiness or stringiness of 646 SUPREME assures that metal surfaces are coated with a film of wear protection, cushioning agents, and offer superior rust protection in the presence of moisture.

RAPID AIR RELEASE/NON–FOAMING

Trapped air within an enclosed system causes a number of issues. Air bubbles act as an insulator for heat. As temperatures rise critical materials in seals are robbed of their pliable characteristics and seal deterioration begins. In addition, the heat begins to oxidize the oil itself. As breakdown begins, the oils capabilities are diminished and varnish or sludge will begin to form. 646 SUPREME has an industry best non-foaming additive designed to rapidly release air.
